Man, ever since I got married I have just felt heavier!

Just in case you were wondering, I did not actually gain 65 on my honeymoon. I was referring to me being one with another human now.( Never explain a joke Adam…it doesnt make it any better)

So where did we go on the honeymoon?

Well for the nerds out there you might appreciate this image.

I have been pretty busy since I got back from my honeymoon. Some of it is music related, some not so much.

One perk of being married to Talia is that this thing came with her.

Needless to say I have been playing a lot of piano as of late. Most of it is chopsticks and the rugrats theme song but some of it is original as well. Iv’e got 5 new songs written on this bad boy. My skills aren’t really up to scratch yet though, so I am getting the piano parts recorded by my friend Calvin. I used to play music with him when I lived in Melbourne back in the day. So you have them to look forward to…or should I say…listen forward to.

I have also been categorising my songs. Turns out I have 36 finished songs that are just sitting here waiting to be recorded. I have got another 80+ that are unfinished. I am thinking, its time to stop focusing on writing and record these sukkas! Only 1 problem, my electric guitar decided to spaz out on me. so I got myself a new one. Still wondering what I am going to do with the old one. Maybe give it away in a contest…hmmm.

Here is my new baby.

One of the other perks of being married to someone is that now I have someone who can hold up a camera whilst I play effectively creating what we call in the business’ Music videos’ So you have them to look out for as well.

Apart from all that music stuff, I have been setting up a home, painting, sanding, taping, moving furniture, gardening and playing video games when Talia thinks I am working. Its been great so far.

Missy Higgins has a new album out (The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle). Totally pumped about it. Ive been watching her promo videos for it, how she is really getting lose and shaking up her style.
I have always wanted to sing with Missy Higgins, and I have, when I’m cleaning up my house I’m always blasting The Sound of White singing along.

When I saw her track Hello Hello, I went nuts! such a great way to wake up in the morning. I had to make a cover of it.

Just before I left to return to Holland, Matty came over to rock out with me one last time.

Now that I’m back in Holland I am working away at various projects.
Ive got a limited edition album that I will be releasing very soon (there was a hickup with the shipping)

I’ve also been working on an EP called ‘Chocolatier’ which has more instruments and backing vocals and such + a surprise!
Ive got a HUGE project that has a little something to do with this little guy and Ive also got my wedding coming up in September!
So I am also busy painting a house, choosing flowers, tasting cakes and all that.

Once things calm down a little I want to do another Community Songs Project, because they are always fun.
The community songs project is for members only or else things just get waaay out of hand. But on the plus side, becoming a member is free just put your email in that little box to the right!

So that’s whats up! Whats up with you?

Well, I guess that’s the end of that then eh?
Being on ‘The Voice Australia’ has been a seriously amazing experience.
I came to Australia with a goal, to entertain you, make you cry(in a good way) and get to know as many of you as I could.
I feel like I met that goal, and am really pleased with what I have accomplished.

Sure, I didn’t win the show. But that doesn’t matter.
All my life I have been a bit of a drifter. Not belonging anywhere. Don’t speak dutch well enough to be dutch, don’t speak aussie enough to be an Aussie. Its been a blessing and a curse really. I like to consider myself a bit of a world citizen. But it gets really lonely sometimes.

But how things have changed!
I’m so glad I took the risk of leaving everything behind to get to know you guys. People have been coming up to me on the streets with smiles on their faces, telling me that Iv’e done a great job and wishing me good luck. Every time I turn on facebook I get chat requests from people and we stay up late in the night just talking away about all sorts of things. I have really enjoyed getting to know you Australia!

So what happens now? I can’t really say. I do look forward to seeing my fiancé again and playing the instruments I left back in Holland. I have been living out of a suitcase for the last 6 months and it has been taking its toll on me. But I’ll tell you something, when people ask me where I want to live. I’ll look them in the eye and say
‘I still call Australia home.’

Thank you for accepting me in to your hearts and TV time. Your the best Australia, this has been an experience I will never forget.

Ever since I realized cooties didn’t exist I wanted to share my life with someone. Life is just more exciting with somebody by your side. When you get your drivers licence the first thing you do is go tell someone and pick them up for a drive.

When I met Talia, my life changed, I have never been loved by someone so much that I met on the streets. Now I had someone to share my life with. When times are rough, we pull each other through. Coming to Australia for the voice has been so exciting so far. But the problem is she is still on the other side of the world. I love this country, but I also love her. So I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.

She supports my decision to come to Australia though and that is just one of the things that makes her amazing. But what if something happens to her whilst I am away chasing my dream? That is what scares me the most.
